Act accordingly

Once you learn to look for it, the absurd turns up everywhere. Recently, for example, we saw Jack Nicholson (in "The Departed") sum up the absurd in two words:

Nicholson: "How's your mother?"

Bar patron: "Not too good. I think she's on her way out."

Nicholson: "We all are. Act accordingly."
